Dancing Frog Farm is a small hobby farm located in Chaplin, CT. We are new to the area and lifestyle, having made a major move in July 2007... cross country in fact! We packed up our two dogs, three kitties, two Bearded Dragons (who spend the school year in my classroom) and a big moving van with our stuff and left Redondo Beach, California (near Los Angeles) where I grew up. We stayed with friends for six months while we were getting settled into new jobs, then bought our dream house with river frontage, a pond, and  almost sixteen acres. I have always wanted to have a little farm... here's my chance!

I have been learning a lot about a more "country" lifestyle, and feel like it suits me to a T. I thought this webpage might be a good place to compile some of the lessons I've learned as I go along. I get some pretty funny looks from people when I tell them all my plans for my little farm, and sometimes people who've been living in this fairly rural area their whole life just shake their head at me. Most of my newfound wisdom will likely be common knowledge for most folks, but I'm not claiming to have found anything new... just what a city girl's experience has taught her about living the country dream.
